2. If you want to make notes on the slides, download & print the slides for each video. The links for this are below each video lesson.

3. I also recommend that you have the audio transcript with you as you watch the video lesson, for context.

  • Test Yourself

2. Complete the exercises. After you download the documents, you can type your answers directly in the PDF!

4. If some of your answers are incorrect, go back and review the audio transcript and the video lessons. Then, you can test yourself again!

  • Practice Conversation

This activity simulates a small talk conversation.

You will see instructions on the screen. These instructions tell you what to say, but you must invent your own sentences. Then I will speak to respond to you!

It is ok to pause the video to read the instructions and think about what you want to say! If you need more time to speak your response, it’s ok to pause the video while you speak.

With practice, you will become faster with your responses and more fluid in conversations.

Instructions:

1. Watch the video one time, just to become familiar with it.

2. Listen to what I say. Pause the video to read the instructions that appear on the screen.

3. Hit play again. Say your response out loud, as I “listen” to you! It’s important to practice SPEAKING in English.

4. Continue this way until you finish the conversation with me.

5. To consolidate your practice, you can write your answers in the Practice Conversation Worksheet.

6. To check your answers, click “Click here to see corrections” at the bottom of the worksheet. (Note: This is an example of a good conversation. Your conversation may be a little different, but it’s ok. The most important thing is to have a natural, fluid conversation).
